Resource pressure – A circular design method

Extraction, processing and final disposal of primary resources is responsible for a major share global environmental burdens, many which are already beyond safe limits today. Design pivotal defining the quality quantity that required as an input to produce product (or service) well generated output by it’s use disposal. In order improve performance our society, it therefore essential provide adequate design guidance. To this end, we present in paper resource pressure method allowing reduce on resources, therewith planet Earth, through circular strategies. This calculated out six parameters: mass product, lifetime, manufacturing losses, material content, recyclability cascadability. The enables straightforward quantitative assessment decisions offers clear guidance during phase. We further derive qualitative guidelines with objective direction conception. A first application heat exchanger illustrates advantages development potential method. comparison results from life cycle study case study, could be seen guides towards reducing overall impacts.
